Arval is a subsidiary of BNP Paribas and is now one of the leaders in long-term leasing and company fleet management.
The everyday mission of the Arval team is to think of and introduce solutions which simplify and optimize services associated with auto mobility. Since its foundation in 1989 the company has become a leader in long-term leasing and company fleet management.
Arval Service Lease was founded in France in December 1989 as a part of the banking group. The group moved into other parts of Europe two years later with our expansion into Belgium and then we spread to Italy, Spain, Luxembourg, Portugal, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Austria and Poland. In 1999 Arval Service Lease managed a fleet of nearly 137,000 vehicles in Europe, of which more than 80,000 were in France.
The foundation of Arval PHH in September 2000 gave another direction to the rapid expansion. This new direction is the result of two important events:
- the merger of Arval Service France (Paribas) and the former Europcar Lease France (BNP)
- the purchase of PHH Europe by BNP Paribas which made it possible to extend the group even more into the European market. Since this acquisition, branches of Arval PHH have also been opened in Ireland, the United Kingdom and Germany.
In April 2003 ARVAL PHH Service Lease was founded in the Czech Republic as the second branch of the Arval Group in Central and Eastern Europe. Consequently a branch in Hungary was founded.
In October 2004 Arval PHH changed its name to Arval. This change led to the creation of the trademark of 'Member of PHH Arval Allianz' – thus confirming the business partnership between Arval and PHH in the United States.
Arval continued its international development and founded Arval Morocco in October 2002, and Arval Slovakia in June 2004. In 2005 Brazil and Russia followed and in 2006, Turkey and Romania. In 2007 a branch in India was founded and in 2008 in Ukraine.
At the end of December 2012, Arval managed 689,000 vehicles in twenty-five countries.
Arval has emerged as one of the leaders in the North American market. The Group has developed the strategy of alliance in the geographical areas where the group does not have an established history. The partners from Japan, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Scandinavia augment our international composition.
Arval can offer a complete range of services associated with vehicle financing and management in 40 different countries.
Arval, a part of BNP Paribas Group, enjoys a good reputation in the long-term leasing market.
We can say in general that being a part of BNP Paribas greatly compliments our business. Arval is part of the Small Financial and Bank Services at the international level of the BNP Paribas Group.
